Workshop Overview

This is a hands-on, interactive workshop that shows local businesses how AI-powered search (like Google’s AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity) is changing how people find them online.

We’ll walk through what AI sees, what it skips, and how to fix the gaps — using live examples right in the room.

Attendees will leave knowing:

✅How to check if their business shows up correctly
✅What to fix first to improve visibility
✅Where to go for ongoing help and resources

• Welcome & Intro (5 min)
  Quick overview of what we’ll cover and why it matters.

• How Search Has Changed (10 min)
  Comparing “old” Google search to AI-driven results — simple visuals and examples.

• How AI Pulls Info (10 min)
  Demo using real tools (Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity) to show how business info appears — and where it comes from.

• Hands-On Exercise (20 min)
  Attendees do live searches for their own business using Shelley’s “Quick Visibility Checks” handout.
  One local business may be used as a demonstration example for the group.

• Action Plan + Resources (10 min)
  Step-by-step list of what to fix and links to follow-up resources.

• Q&A + Wrap-Up (5 min)
  Final questions, takeaways, and invitation to stay connected.
  Shelley will stay an extra 30 minutes afterward for anyone who wants to talk through their results or get a little more direction.
